Hi Kate,
Thanks for your time in leaving a review about your interactions with Little Eedie. I am Chloe, and I am part of the customer care team. I am aware of your brand OB Designs which Little Eedie used to stock until about 12 months ago.
In August of 2020 we were contacted by Justice Dept of Queensland (Fair Trade) with the below email regarding items from your brand that you supplied to us
"'O.B Marty Moose Best Mate' supplied by Little Eedie, was obtained by the Office of Fair Trading (QLD) Consumer Product Safety Unit and sent for compliance testing. The findings have confirmed that the product, captured by the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age, has failed the requirements of the mandatory standard. I have attached a copy of the test report for your reference.
As such, this product is considered non-compliant with the mandatory safety standard and must be removed from supply.
Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003, as amended by Consumer Protection No. 1 of 2005 sets out the requirements for toys for children up to and including 36 months. This mandatory standard was created to reduce the chances of small parts coming off toys during play or after reasonable wear and tear, therefore helping to prevent choking, suffocation, or death. It applies to toys for children up to and including 36 months old which have been manufactured, designed, labelled or marketed as playthings. Products captured under this standard include but are not limited to: rattles, stuffed, plush and flocked animals and figures, and toy cars, trucks and other vehicles."
After this interaction with Justice Department of Queensland (Fair Trade), I am aware you had a discussion with the owner of Little Eedie about sending your remaining supply of the OB Designs Best Mate range to Little Eedie to sell. Little Eedie was to remove the charms which were the source of the product not meeting safety requirements and then sell the items in our online store at a highly reduced price and split the takings between Little Eedie and OB Designs.
Unfortunately 99% of the items are still being stored by Little Eedie as we are unable to sell them, after contacting customers who had purchased from the OB Designs Best Mate range to advise of the legal requirement to withdraw the items from sale and supply full refunds to our customers, our customers were no longer confident in purchasing your brand.
The agreement was for Little Eedie to sell them items and once all items were sold, the takings would be split. As the items are not all sold, there is barely any takings to split. The cost of wages paid to remove the charms is currently higher than the amount $$ in sales on the product.
Little Eedie supported your brand OB Designs for many years and was proud of the working relationship we built together. Unfortunately, like any story there is always two sides and we have found since you split with your business partner Lisa and have taken over sole running of OB Designs, that your company has become all about profits and not about caring about the consumer and the quality of product you supply.
Happy to return your faulty unfit for sale products to you at your cost. Simply email the return address to our customer care team via email and the team will arrange the shipment. Email - [****]
Have a great week,
Chloe
